Report from ORT school in Hofgeismar, 21 August 1947
The following report was compiled by an ORT school inspector during his visit to a newly opened ORT establishment in Hofgeismar DP camp in Kassel district in late August 1947.
Even though the report underlines ‘the usual lack of sufficient materials’ and the variety of places that had to be adapted for ORT workshops, including a former garage, the school is judged as very successful The report focuses on the part played in organization of the school by individual teachers and educators. It especially points out ORT’s cooperation with IRO, and sees it as the basis for the success of the school.
